Communications Manager

Part time – 2 days per week ongoing
Plus an additional 1 day per week to end 2017

Museums Australia is the national professional association for the museums and galleries sector. The Communications Manager is responsible for the print, electronic and online communications of the Victorian Branch of Museums Australia, the national peak body for museums and galleries.

The Manager supports the marketing of our projects and programs, coordinates the content, design and production of publication and collateral, manages the website and online surveys, and raises the profile of both our organisation and our members/stakeholders to the media.

Applications for this position are invited from people with strong communication skills, fluency in design, internet and social media tools, and a capacity to build and maintain relationships with a diverse mix of third-parties including museums, galleries, paid staff, volunteers, committee members, funding bodies, the media, and other peak bodies in the creative industries sector. 

The annual salary for two days per week is $22,097 plus superannuation, paid to the minimum required by applicable legislation, depending on skills and experience. There are also extra paid annual leave days per annum given to all staff.  This role also includes an additional day per week until the end of 2017, at an annual rate of $11,049 for the year, pro rata.
