The Great Museum Debate

Join us in the Great Museum Debate as we discuss the contentious topic ‘Museums Are Boring.' This is your chance to watch museum professionals deliberate their own existence, and watch comedians expose fabulous and ridiculous museum experiences. Post-debate socialising and further arguments will be held downstairs at the Moat bar and restaurant. Don't miss out on this invigorating and enjoyable event.

Victorian Collections Day

A full day of information and workshops aimed at the community collecting sector to help you achieve the best care for your collection.

Hear from museum and gallery industry experts on topics including collection management, conservation and exhibition skills. Talks will cover ways to approach these topics with small budgets in mostly volunteer organisations, ideal for the small-medium groups who use VC to catalogue their collections.

Victorian Collections Cataloguing Workshop – Melbourne

This hands-on workshop provides an introduction to the principles of digitisation and collection management.  Participants will learn how to catalogue collection items using the free, online and custom-built Victorian Collections cataloguing system.  

Victorian Collections workshops offer a relaxed and open environment and cater for participants with any degree of museum and computer literacy, as well as ongoing cataloguing support for community museums, and small and medium collections.

Morning tea and lunch are provided. Please advise of any dietary requirements when booking.

Travellers Tales
