Recipients Announced for the 2014 Roving Curator Program
The Roving Curator – Exhibitions Program is a new initiative developed by Museums Australia (Victoria) to support and improve museum and gallery sector exhibition activity in Victoria. The program is administered by Museums Australia (Victoria) with funds received from Arts Victoria.
Designed to provide hands-on assistance, the Program offers an exhibitions professional (Roving Curator) to work with a museum or gallery on a range of exhibition-related projects.
The assessment panel recently met to select the five organisations that will receive assistance from the Program in 2014. The recipients are:
- Australian Railway Historical Society
For assistance with an interpretation plan, planning displays and label writing.
- Talbot Museum
For assistance with the exhibition development process and planning displays.
- Queenscliffe Maritime Museum
To develop themes and ideas for exhibition displays and the development of a project management plan.
- Surfworld Museum Torquay
For assistance in the development of an interpretation plan, a fundraising strategy, and a marketing strategy.
- Arts Space Wodonga and Wodonga Historical Society
For the development of an exhibition from idea to delivery.
